1. My heart is torn with love and longing for her,
And consumed by the mystery of her being.

2. If my heart survived a day without seeing her,
It would be fuel on the flames of passion.

3. Could my heart find peace away from her?
Never! It knows no solace but in her presence.

4. No lover lives long in happiness
Without being soothed by her gentleness.

5. Her beauty astounds all who see her,
The wise and foolish alike adore her.

6. She walks proudly, boldly revealing
Her graces that kings might envy and desire.

7. Her slender shape sways gracefully
As the branches sway in the breeze shyly.

8. Her glances pierce my soul like swords,
Or surely wound it with their flashes.

9. She smiled and promised and fulfilled
With a kiss that set my heart ablaze.

10. Her radiance dazzles the mind’s eye,
Her sweet waters revive the soul of the thirsty.

11. The wise say leave her, cease your madness!
Yet how can I love any but her?

12. I say to them, I am patient,
May my Lord prolong her life!
