1. Your days appeared to you with a smiling face,
And the face of congratulations beamed with good tidings.

2. The garden of the sky of virtue blossomed,
With the poles of moons and sparkling stars.

3. The conversations of youth about it unfolded,
And returned to us, spreading good.

4. Damascus Levant started blooming, as
The highest honor became hers, so leave Egypt alone.

5. Her slender branches surpassed
The smart and slender when they bend in their green tresses.

6. Her radiant forehead became uncovered,
Lighting up the moons in the blackness of hair.

7. Beauty adorned those lands when
It settled like a garden saturated with droplets.

8. The times changed and aligned,
Embellishing this life with goodness for all time.

9. Passionately, maidens frolicked in the field of longing,
Rejoicing as they gathered in the courtyard of the palace.

10. Those who saw you today attained their wishes,
And I said to myself “This is the moment of life.”

11. So this day among days is unlike any other,
As among nights the Night of Destiny appeared.

12. What do you think we should call you, O Unique One?
Are you the secret’s writer or humanity’s writer?

13. You were called and succeeded one day as she wished,
Becoming for her the blessed executor.

14. From her you were adorned when idle,
For the beauty nothing is like a necklace at the throat.

15. You fulfilled her rights upon rights,
So it’s no wonder she struts proudly in robes of pride.

16. You took a lofty position of glory,
Elevating yourself highly above the summit of authority.

17. By God, your brown pen surpasses
Those polished and dyed brown.

18. Water it with generosity, it will bloom and bedew,
And bear fruit with ample wealth and abundance.

19. With it, long extend a hand that collected many enemies,
So I sacrifice the outstretched hand bringing both ebb and flow.

20. It gives generously what none gave before,
And grants gifts without fear of poverty.

21. Leave all description at the overflow of her gifts,
And say whatever you wish about her, and talk of the sea,

22. And you are right, I have not fully praised
What I owe her of deserved thanks and gratitude.

23. And here is my excuse established by passion,
So true are the words "Passion is my excuse."

24. I came to your lofty door seeking dew,
And you met me with ease in the hour of hardship.

25. How often I came with empty hands to your door,
Only to return with them filled with white and yellow.

26. They said "Do you narrate the sea's loyalty in friendship?"
I said "Dawn's light shows the difference."

27. What bounty comes with this addition!
While the other comes with additions and losses.

28. It has tranquility watering generosity,
Just as its face waters eloquence with glad tidings.

29. Through it time past has no peer,
And its deeds are accomplished matters.

30. Of the most generous early leaders,
The elite of people, and noble chiefs.

31. The generous Abbasids, the Hashimite descendants,
And Abd Manaf, from Qusayy and Fahr.

32. What glorious glory you have embraced!
And mighty affair, too great for fate.

33. So preserve it as an untouched maiden,
To make you independent of every touched maiden.

34. To the likes of you belongs what it has concealed, as if
Unveiling an untouched maiden emerging from seclusion.

35. Well-mannered, her essence surpassed the meanings of attributes,
She is a creation of my literary mind.

36. The magic of her words captures intellects,
Did she learn the craft of magic from Babylon?

37. I keep repeating it though it may not suit,
Else that sweetness would not appear in my poetry.

38. So stay in the orbit of fortune, and raise the banner of glory,
Above the shoulder of splendid glory, for ages to come.

39. May your full moon remain lofty,
With your fortune and perfection constantly increasing.

40. You attained pride when the garden started blooming,
And its branches swayed in the morning breeze.
