The fragrance of the scented breeze,

8. A messenger of loyalty that gripped my soul
Responding immediately to her call.

9. The loyalty of a generous woman from the best people
Who were honored above non-Arabs and Arabs,

10. Their fame has spread so they have become
The object of praise in East and West.

11. They inherited virtues from old
And preserved it with the blade of every anger,

12. They are the refined elite who were generous and good
And did not give birth except to the refined.

13. It is enough that among them appeared
In this era one who shames all other women.

14. A girl adorned the brow of virtues
With a ripe pearl of etiquette.

15. I yearn for her from afar but what can be done
If fate would allow us to be close?

16. Peace be upon Egypt and its inhabitants
And everything in Egypt of water and soil.

17. Peace be upon the place where my heart resides
And who can I blame for where my heart resides?

18. O you who reached every virtue
And attained every admirable trait,

19. You whose virtues overflowed and revived
In me poetry from every barrenness,

20. You have honored me with generosity and bounty
With praise of your traits that came to inspire me,

21. Praise I am not worthy of except that
I boasted of it to my fellows and friends.

22. Many a composer like a verdant garden
Upon which the clouds of eloquence poured,

23. In it the prime of meanings gathered
Dragging behind the train of wonder.

24. His wit was delightful and he presented
To the barren temperaments the best remedy,

25. Sublime wisdoms that were a beacon
For every insight in every discourse.

26. I saw the outcomes of events in it
Depicted, gleaming without veils,

27. The Teymouriya of the age adorned
With what her hands have woven, every love,

28. The authoress of a group noble in origin
And presiding among pens and books,

29. She contained the flagstaff of precedence in every art
And surpassed in meanings every difficulty.

30. Next to you is Ghada the maiden who gifted
A greeting of yearning for meeting you, my youth.

31. If only I could make myself
Through it a line calling the travelers: “Move on!”

32. It settles for the inability of the one who composed its adornments,
Seeking acceptance, and that is enough for me.
