1. If you desire a matter, rely upon it
For reliance and surrender have no equal

2. Surrender, and entrust your matter to God, for
What is intended for you will come to you whether you wish it or not

3. So do not assume traveling long distances
Is more conducive to ruin than staying put and enduring

4. And do not prevent me from the path I desire
Based on your assumption, for assumption deceives the reasonable

5. For I will encounter what God has decreed I encounter
So do not presume to have knowledge like ignorance

6. For you know not, even if you are apprehensive for me
Whether what you fear is further from me or closer

7. And you will see many a cautious protector
Struck down by death amongst his own family
