1. Greetings, O Imam of the Muslims,
And O light of guidance for the faithful,

2. Farewell, not the farewell of estrangement,
But a longing in the heart lying in wait.

3. I leave your most radiant face, and my soul
Yearns whenever you are remembered.

4. So live long until I return, and stay cheerful
Among the living, preserved for years.

5. May your guidance for righteousness endure,
Salvation, nay the life of all beings.

6. Peace be with you, say it and I
Will say, when supplicating, Amen.

7. For the prayer of the likes of you is answered,
And you are today the pole of the reverent.

8. So whoever gained your attention became,
By the grace of God, firmly roped.
