2. Your zealous heart is torn with sorrow
And you mourn an orator who was a full moon, now gone

3. With the spear of grief I wound livers, and say
Oh Time, you have opposed us, is it not enough?

4. Who is it that remains when you defeat us?
Why, Time, this injustice to the perfect one?

5. Were you trying to please an enemy, or has
The luminous protector now faded away?

6. You made joyful one humbled, oh Time, shaken
By him a party of glory stood arrayed

7. My God is greatest! If Time wills one
Triumphant, its promises will not fail

8. You are but slave to Fate, not giver of
Neither life, nor death, nor yet of healing balms

9. So be gentle with Egypt, who knew his worth
And pride and generosity, that noble clan

10. Rising to suppress all faith's assailants
Casting away all guile and deception

11. Shielding the homelands with their zeal
Bearing the banner of the perfect Mustafa
