1. I see red horses grazing, fed whatever they desire
And hungry lions thirst forever, their thirst is never quenched
١. أَرَى حُمُراً تَرعَى وَتُعلَفُ ما تَهوى
وَأُسداً جِياعاً تَظمَأُ الدَّهرَ لا تُروى
2. And the nobility who cannot attain their sustenance
And lowly people eating honey and nuts in abundance
٢. وَأَشرافَ قَومٍ لا يَنالونَ قوتَهُم
وَقَوماً لِئاماً تَأكُلُ المَنَّ وَالسَلوى
3. A destiny decreed by the Judge of all creation prevails
And none can resist the bitterness of destiny
٣. قَضاءٌ لِدَيّانِ الخَلائِقِ سابِقٌ
وَلَيسَ عَلى مُرِّ القَضا أَحَدٌ يَقوى
4. So whoever understands the deceptions of fate
Shows perseverance in tribulation and does not complain
٤. فَمَن عَرَفَ الدَهرَ الخَؤونَ وَصَرفَهُ
تَصَبَّرَ لِلبَلوى وَلَم يُظهِرِ الشَكوى
