1. The abode of love, so the antelope reign
And passion's fervor makes its horsemen vain
١. دارِ الهوى فلسلطان الظُّبا دول
وللغرام وغى فرسانها المقل
2. When the does of intimacy turn their eyes
The pigeons coo and the warrior's sword is plain
٢. إذا أدارت ظباءُ الأنسِ أعينَها
حُمَّ الحمامُ وخام المُحْرَبُ البطل
3. As if the glances of the white eggs flutter
Between the breasts, Indian white and dark gazelle
٣. كأنما لحظاتُ البيضِ خُرَّدِها
بين الجوانح بيضُ الهندِ والأسل
4. They appeared, and never has my soul known dawns
Whose risings were so gently bright and well
٤. بانوا وما عهدت نفسي شموسَ ضحىً
أضحتْ مطالعهن الأينق الذلل
5. Until I saw the pavilions of the tribe raised up
And the crowns were lowered over their cheeks' parallel
٥. حتى رأيتُ قبابَ الحيِّ قد رُفِعتْ
وقد تراختْ على لبّاتها الكلل
6. They camped in the vales of ardent fever and went far
So we have naught but the breezes of morn that tell
٦. حَلُّوا بساحاتِ أجراع الحمى ونأوا
فما لنا غيرُ أنفاسِ الصِّبا رسل
