1. God watered the sands of the plain with date palms
That solitary dune amidst the summits

2. The tomb of the worshipper which is below Murbakh
Then Murbakh, then Al Ghadran, then the plateaus

3. Then my mountain Zurud and Taliha and Lawa
For it has a place near me and affection

4. And nothing remains of its pleasures except memories
That rend my soul whenever they come to mind

5. Of a palace overlooking the valley of Zabala
Where I gathered my tears in its bosoms

6. Dearer to my soul and more painful in its yearning
And more worthy of it than these settlements

7. May God not let you despair, soon He will permit
Victory for the oppressed and release from suffering

8. And hearts content, though anger at me has spread among them
And they have returned my love with other than kindness
