1. I see the dove's lament longing for a people,
And in the dove's lament I find solace,
١. أرى نوح الحمام يشوق قوماً
وفي نوح الحمائم لي عزاء
2. When the doves weep in their loneliness
And separation and estrangement disturb them,
٢. إذا بكت الحمائم وهي وحش
وأزعجها التفرق والجفاء
3. No one finds intimacy in isolation
When visiting and meeting are denied.
٣. فما جز الأنيس من التصابي
إذا امتنع التزاور واللقاء
