1. I created you in the image of what I love
So you are wine from my inspiration and nourishment

2. And aspirations strip you of my rights
As if I never loved nor suffered anguish

3. For others you claim the world is a lamp
For them is the wick while for me are the oils

4. How many rights has time denied me
And how much has time destroyed, yet I'm not destroyed

5. Your loyalty is the joy of generations remembered
And your love the model of lovers famed

6. You are but a figment of my soul and heart
That illuminates with my poetry the abodes

7. On it I poured perfumes of my love
And from my verse beauties that shall not perish
