1. I was blamed much, though I did not mean to disgrace,
No sighs were in the dwellings, nor words of disgrace,

2. The charming girls wanted me to bewail my passion,
After standing at the abodes of Noor,

3. Indeed standing at them was like bidding farewell,
Between the chests and the tears, the neighbors,

4. Abodes passed by with nightingales and tears,
So the heart boils and the tears flow,

5. Abodes stormed by winds violently,
And those standing were valleys and bracelets,

6. And gazelles gathered in them, you see naught,
But an ostrich and quails,

7. And changed but to ashes around it,
A high rugged land and waves,

8. I knew these abodes once lively,
White, adorned with anklets and bracelets,

9. A gentle, bright-faced virgin,
Who walked softly among the neighbors,

10. She reminded me when she appeared smiling,
A garden whose light and pearls shine,

11. And the thickets and varieties and the bright night,
Not like the night of animals and the beauty of moons,

12. And the narcissus and the witness glittering,
And the blowing of diffusing musk and my fragrance,

13. O beautiful one, grant me intimacy,
Speak not of myFirmness and my remoteness,

14. And be gentle with me and remember my,
Sorrowful heart and my remembrance,

15. Abandon me not in your abodes as,
The fox was abandoned, lost in the house,

16. Due to his bad company and lack of benefit,
To his daughters and plenty of harm,

17. So he strove to become a neighbor of others,
Imposing himself, away with such a neighbor!

18. He swims in oceans of blame,
Absolved of the traits of the noble,

19. Following the path of the deviant and his party,
Avoiding the path of the Chosen One,

20. Wearing the rags of all villains,
Decked out and ragged,

21. Shunning favors, resentful,
Miserable, despised before God,

22. He comes and goes astray, constructing,
His edifice with pillars and bracelets,

23. He never fasted in Ramadan, nor bent,
From one in menses in its hot days,

24. His heedlessness overlooked his dangers,
So he became foul of speech and scheming,

25. An ugly ape, harmful dog,
With chained fangs and claws,

26. Seeing the maker of a bridle, he scratched his neck,
And asked him for news,

27. The belly is a ship’s belly, religion is the,
Religion of stupidity, and the mind is a donkey’s,

28. O one who indulges in vileness, insensitive,
To clamor, O most foolish of fools,

29. O stingiest of the stingy, whose face,
Is like tar, O most disgusting of poems,

30. O chronic disobeyer, all his life,
O a disgrace of disgrace and burden,

31. You have boasted of poetry and highness,
Ignorantly while you are devoid of nobility,

32. One who cursed his father and broke his ribs,
What heights can he aspire to?

33. And today whoever opposes you cannot harm you,
And your supporters will inhabit the land of ruin,

34. I have said this in satire yet you did not die,
Dogs indeed have long lives!
