1. Do not think that any songstress
Can match your rhythm or attempt your melody.

2. Your Master has raised you among singers to the highest rank.
And Allah does whatever He wills with things.

3. You have surpassed every singing man or woman,
And the dawn grows bright, its signs cannot be hidden.

4. And in your pure singing is for the heart of the perceptive
A pleasurable sinking that kills him.

5. You have mastered your lute until if you speak nonsense in song
Who inclines from what you say fears you.

6. So he says whatever you say in the evening,
While you say whatever he says.

7. As if your melody extends a melody to him
And from your fingers extend his fingers.
