1. One day I came to Muhammad ibn Al-Bashir
The source of generosity, excellence and goodness

2. He showed me the epitome of pure manners
And utmost reverence and respect

3. He welcomed me warmly and gave glad tidings
Until the meaning of welcoming was complete

4. His palm spread out rugs for the guests
More splendid than any couch or bed

5. Then he lined up crystal decanters in rows
And jugs with caps decorated and edged with gold

6. He spread out books which are like scattered pearls
Dazzling the mind beyond any precious jewels

7. It was as if I was a companion there
To the famous poet Abu Al-Tayyib

8. And as if the dew was in the Ukaz market
In the outpourings of Jarwal and Jareer

9. He is excellence and intelligence personified
And the height of every difficult matter
