1. Aishah, the world has its ups and downs
Sweet to those who find it kind
١. أَعَائِشُ إِنَّ لِلدُّنيَا صُرُوفَا
تَلَذُّ لِمَن يَكُونُ بِهَا عَرُوفَا
2. So do not think that within it
There lies anything to fear
٢. فَلاَ يَكُن إعتِقَادُكِ أنَّ فِيهَا
مَخُوفاً ما إِخَالُ بِهَا مَخُوفَا
3. Nor let it sadden you if frowning, distant
It shuns affection stubbornly
٣. ولاَ يَحزِنكِ إِن عَبَسَت وَصدَّت
وعَاضَت مِن مَوَدَّتِهَا عُزُوفَا
4. Baring its fangs, recoiling
Raising swords and calamities
٤. وأبَدَت نَاجِذَيهَا وأشمَأَزَّت
وأرهَفَتِ العَوالِىَ والسُّيُوفَا
5. Nor let it lift you if gently to you
It shows its tender side
٥. ولا يَطرُيكِ إِن وَلَّتكِ لِيناً لَهَا
وأَرَتكِ قَيهَلَها المَشُوفَا
6. For it has often tricked
Those it seemed to fortify
٦. وحَفَتكِ مَن يَحُفُّكِ بالأمَاني
فقد كَانَت مُصَرِّمَة
