2. I was in a beautiful gathering,
In which the virgins were sick, longing for the cure.

3. I have known you for a long time not to be just to you,
And to defend you, though frowning.

4. So I ignored her, ignoring an opponent,
And observed her, observing a judge.

5. Eyes glanced at her from every horizon,
Complaining with revelation and winking.

6. Of dignified elders, generous,
Distracted with amusements, neglecting morals.

7. The attributes of singing girls, the foremost being coquetry,
I described her union with them as harmony.

8. So I hesitated with her and prepared
My rejection and sourness and displeasure.

9. I supported the side of joking and embraced it
Rejecting them all sternly.

10. Her loyalty to you was enough for me
Until the night bid them farewell in dispersal.
