1. They are determined riders who do not stop however much they are chased away,
Seeking to mount their steeds again if they do not manage to strike.
١. فَهُم مُشيحونَ لا يَألونَ ما طَرَدوا
أُخرى الرِكابِ إِذا لَم يَضرِبوا حَجَنُوا
2. Whenever the sea of Khindif rages one day,
Its waves will swamp those who stand in its way.
٢. إِذا ما بَحرُ خِندِفَ جاشَ يَوماً
يُغَطمِطُ مَوجُهُ المُتَعَرِضينا
3. However much good there was,
Our early ancestors inherited it.
٣. فمَهما كانَ مِن خَيرٍ فَاِنّا
وَرثناها أَوائِلُ أَوَّلينا
4. And we will bequeath, just as we inherited
From our forefathers, if our sons outlive us.
٤. وَإِنّا مَورِثونَ كَما وَرِثنا
عَن الآباءِ إِن مُتنا بَنينا
