1. Sorrows fade away in his kind compassion,
And pleasing countenance so fair;

2. His visage shines like the full moon at night,
Dispelling gloom mid shadows there;

3. Forbearing, wise, yet fanciful in dreams,
In his embrace lie maidens fair;

4. From his open hand the thirsty drink,
When hot winds leave the meadows bare;

5. His swords flash bright in peace and war,
Guarding his land from dread and care;

6. His forces never turn to flee,
Nor weakly settles he for fare;

7. He shuns injustice in his might,
And fears the Lord both here and there;

8. The minister meets troubles with a smile,
Open-hearted, generous, debonair;

9. To him noble deeds are but a duty,
Not favor to be trumpeted far and wide;

10. Thus the minister's holy zeal,
Envied near and far, spread far and wide

11. Giving freely, sparing wrath, gentleness and courage blest,
Living while others die in mortal tide;

12. May Ahmed live long years in joy,
From grief and gloom long purified!
