1. And still you swore both oaths wholly
Obeyed, praised of purpose and consequences

2. So my open superior merits' envious rival
Is either the heavy rumbling of torrents or the light rustling of pouring rain

3. Thus no sword but submits to resolve
No rainfall but witness to hopes

4. I stayed alert lest you stayed alert and maybe
The evil of misjudgment would harm the companions

5. And I changed my might from my caution to being
Flooded by tears' stars that it shows

6. If an idea creeps up after an idea
I toss and turn with worries side by side

7. Like a mother, alone with her only child after aging
Believing, out of compassion, every liar

8. Until there emerged, of hoped grace
The pillar of the house, perfect of superior traits

9. Forbearing of glory, shunning lowliness
Clement of loftiness, smooth of endowments

10. My father Ja'far, the caliphs' crown whereby
The horizon of glory shines after darkness

11. So thanks to whom revived by his lifelong valor
Souls of hopes, both neighbor and outlying
