1. The light from Minqabah's lamps is never dimmed
It shines through gloom and shades of darkness

2. It outshines the dripping from cupped palms - though they be envied
By a flowing, bountiful rain and thick, rich pastures

3. I speak of Father Ja'far, crowned the King of Kings
Who combined glory with bounty and daring exploits

4. His resolve is hardened and his blades are sharpened
With the waters of honor or blood of great feats

5. When a goal lies far, his zeal draws it near
Through a dense array of spears and pens

6. For the scribes he has ink of boundless supply
For the brave troops, countless swords to rely

7. The gloom clears through wisdom and strategems
Shrewd counsel and a discerning guide

8. Blame me the world may though nothing comes their way
I take no blame nor complain anyway

9. If I'm far, my love stays true and is never swayed
If disheveled, my affection will never fade
