Like the glow of dawn from it

2. Poverty and misery appear when
The arteries of plenty and blessing run dry

3. Inspiration and passion from his comfort
Are scattered drops of dew and power

4. He fills the days with peace and turmoil
The nobility of faith, bounty and peril

5. He brings life to every fading fortune
And kills the enemies and the insolent

6. Just, even-handed in his judgments
Seeking his pleasure and anger alike

7. He does not deny justice in his rulings
Neither the adversary’s tongue nor the excess of rage

8. Rather, Abu Ja'far and truth together
Are brothers in honesty, so his word holds

9. A lofty patience when he takes cover
And in resolve, a sword with a sharp edge

10. He widens the spear in wondrous battle
And when victory enables him, he bestows

11. He travels the rugged road to supremacy
And sees favoritism as disgrace and trickery

12. Quick to provide when villages grow scarce
Honest in generosity when thunder lies

13. Radiant, glowing face, good tidings his message
He attained glory by effort and lineage

14. He is good, pure water, his source
Smooth, delicious, trustworthy and kind

15. Or like heavy rain from an abundant cloud
The lightning of good news flashed from it and poured
