1. He turns away from evil and avoids it
In him there is determination and resolve for good

2. Reliance on God makes him face dangers stormily
So patience is victorious and misfortunes defeated

3. Anger does not overcome his habitual clemency
Nor does joy make him boastful in distress

4. He almost kisses people's hands out of generosity
And his sandal is glued to the lips of the prey

5. His affection encompasses without prior cause
Thrown, bountiful, and he builds trust completely

6. So it is no wonder his covenants do not expire
And affection with rejection is never destroyed

7. As the depths of honors, he said to every misfortune
Thus glory and shame are connected and intertwined

His weapon and the awe of him in the battlefield

9. And wealth, all in love with glory, oppressed
Wealth is the spoils of dew and repute the spoils of meadows

10. The sword bloodied and the spear broken

11. His food and dislike are less than his need
So provision and sleep are diversion and nonsense

12. The place of his wellbeing is from the blessings of his comfort
A generous meadow watered before dawn

13. And his palm and God's countries are arid
An exuberant downpour abundantly pouring

14. So the caravan departs from the courtyards of his house
And all honey due to the excess of fertility sealed

15. He is the minister whom the rise of his pride
Dispels the darkness of nights, gloomy

16. The crown of kings and refuge of all the oppressed
So the guest is wealthy and the neighbor secure

17. They said Abu Ja'far is a flower for the thirsty
So I said not all the water's spring is cool

18. My patience helped me against my time so I contended with it
With abundant, mighty determination and resolve

19. And protected me from people saying alas
Favor like the rising sun and fortune burning
