1. If the season has adorned itself with flowers,
Then the splendor of al-Din is the adornment of seasons.
١. اذا موسمٌ زان الزمانَ ورودُهُ
فانَّ بهاء الدين زينُ المواسِمِ
2. The nearby villages, their fires never die out,
Good deeds are never held back behind the clouds.
٢. وشيكُ القِرى لا يخمد القرُّ ناره
ولا يحبسُ المعروف خُلْف الغمائم
3. You see him in the garb of humility in times of peace,
Gentle, and in times of strife in the garb of a warrior.
٣. تلاقيه من جْدواه في زيِّ ديمةٍ
دلوحٍ وعند البأس في زيِّ صارمِ
4. His striking and flowing sword obliterates and enriches;
When unsheathed against the skulls and honorable deeds.
٤. فيفني ويغني حدُّه وانسكابهُ
اذا شدَّ في ضرب الطُّلى والمكارمِ
5. None strikes with the sword but him, at the peaks of the enemy,
None is generous but him, one glorious feat after another.
٥. فلا ضربِ اِلا الهبرُ في قِمَم العدى
ولا جودَ الا ساجمٌ اِثرَ ساجمِ
6. His love pulls those hardened with animosity
Toward the softness of accord, even the rigid ones.
٦. تُشدُّ حُباهُ في رجيبِ نديِّه
إِلى ليِّنِ الأعطاف صُلْب المعاجمِ
7. Regret turns him back the day he makes peace,
Champions awe him the day battles flare up.
٧. يُصرفِّه ندْمانهُ يوم سلْمهِ
وترهبُهُ الأبطالُ يوم المَلاحمِ
8. So Abu Al-Fadl lives honored and supported,
With seeks of glory coming to him in multitudes.
٨. فعاش أبو الفضل الهُمامُ مظفَّراً
تقادُ المباغي نحوهُ بالخزائمِ
9. If he passes a feast, none can take his place,
Obeyed whether absent or present alike.
٩. اذا ما نضا عيداً تقمَّص مثلهُ
مُطاعاً فأقْصى غائبٍ مثلُ قادمِ
