تود سيوف الهند في سورة الوغى

1. The Indian swords yearn for the tumult of war,
I have dedicated them for the polished blades.

١. تودُّ سيوفُ الهند في سورة الوغى
وقد أخلصتها للضرابِ الصَّياقلُ

2. They are brandished by the armored men as if they are,
Flashes of lightning ignited by the squadrons.

٢. تُهزُّ بأيدي الدَّارعينَ كأنَّها
وميض بُروقٍ أجَّجتْها الحوافلُ

3. When they shine in the grasp of every valorous one,
An overflowing pourer is aroused from the fertile mind.

٣. اذا لمعتْ في دجْنِ كل عجاجَةٍ
همى ساكبٌ من طائح الهام هاطلُ

4. The religion's mighty arm grew up and his determination,
When the courageous daring one steps forward for the glorious enterprises.

٤. شَبا عضد الدين الكريمِ وعزمَه
اذا خامَ للخطب الجريءُ المباسلُ

5. A youth of generosity and feared mightiness to meet him,
When the two millstones cause fear and grind slowly.

٥. فتى الجودِ والبأس الميب لِقاؤهُ
اذا صرَّح الشَّرانِ روعٌ وماحِلُ

6. With him the might of war is defeated, determination and aid,
And the evil of situation is repelled, merit and attainment.

٦. فيهزمُ بأس الحرب حزمٌ ونجدةٌ
ويطرد شرَّ المحْلِ فضلٌ ونائلُ

7. Bitter in strength, as for his protection it is preventing,
Honoring and as for his victory it is giving.

٧. مريرُ القوى أما حِماهُ فمانعٌ
مُعِزٌّ وأما نصرهُ فهو باذِلُ

8. He is the inheritor of the glorious above every stubborn one,
Obeyed and his reputation is righteous and superior.

٨. هو الوارثُ العلياءَ عن كل كابرٍ
مُطاعٍ ومَسْعاهُ مُبِرٌّ وفاضلُ

9. So time celebrated its holiday in some of its years,
With his rule what the grass grew and rains poured.

٩. فهُنِّيَ دهرٌ عيدهُ بعضُ عامِهِ
بدولتهِ ما أنبت العُشْبَ وابِلُ
