1. If I found justice constricted with Awf ibn Khandaf
Then with Ibn Nushirwan it is not restricted

2. They folded hope from me while my heart is patient
With injustice, having fondness for them and conflict

3. So if there spread with them some niggardliness
Then my censure of that stinginess is not shared

4. You won't see prudence make me bite my lip
Over a property of one who's gone and left

5. And I have from the glory of religion felicity and honor
The succession of benevolence and grasp of goals

6. All of them keep their honored name untouched
And their wealth through generosity - what brilliance!

7. Responding to his call before you implore him
And the best call is that without request

8. A noble one who attained the heights distracted
Radiant with glorious lineage and loftiest traits

9. It makes the lowly gleam with joy as if
Its life in valor lit a morning in a valley

10. Seen ignoring a major sin with forbearance
And in precise speech most excellent and wise

11. Slow to evil and harm in his ways
Majesty, and in good quick to race

12. He inherited his father's gentleness except he
Is a brother of bounty, no injury to dread

13. So he came to be feared yet hoped for even higher
On a day of attainment or day of contest
