1. God protects you from all harm
And has shielded you when the helping hand grew weak

2. So you are a spring whose spirit and bounty
Dispels depressing sorrows and heavy burdens

When the forest lions remained though the cubs were lost

4. And I lamented the morals of women bitterly
To whom perfume and silk would now seem but dust

5. Had he been ransomable, ransomed right away
By souls nourished by your greatness and merit

6. They would find losing life trivial if you lived
No wonder the insignificant pays to spare the noble

7. I hoped to see him like his people
Glorified in the club and prided at the feast

8. So I increasingly gained from the great virtues
The generous hands have roots that go deep

9. If the nights have belied my hopes for consolation
In the most euphonious and sweetest of speech

10. It has succored every desolate one in splendor
Whose glory zeal and sacrifice have built

11. So he came patient, not shaken by any misfortune
Gifted yet aloof from the knots of attachment
