1. The Arabs have endowed you with glory and honor
And proclaimed you to be their king

2. So you excelled over Nu'man and his ilk
There is no boast or brag from you

3. And they called you a pole star around which
The cosmos revolves as you desire

4. So you marched forth while the champions fell back
And you hit the target while opinions wavered

5. And the peace treaty acknowledged
What you were uniquely endowed with

6. So peace gives life to those who concede it
And war wears down even the brave
