4. Had the morning sun kept watch over the firmament
It would have disappeared, for the dawn is dark and gloomy

5. Grieving the loss of a caliph, it curled up in sorrow
Whose boldness the spears witnessed, and the swords

6. The devoted worshipper, wakeful through his night
Protecting the commoners while they slept

7. Seeking the command of God, he whose
Endeavors are noble, and station is supreme

8. The clamor of deceivers and battles are to him
In both states, reciting and murmuring

9. So the vigilant and brave are called
A call unfailing, and a blade that does not dull

10. The tiaras underneath his banner willingly and unwillingly
Bow down since they are vanquished and defeated

11. His steedsโ€™ shoes in war
Are protected from eyes and held in esteem

12. The slippery ground disobeys him, so it recoils
To the tricky terrain, smelling and licking the ground

13. So when he campaigns and raids, among his supporters
Is there one to guide him away from it, submissive or crushed?

ูŠู‡ุฏูŠู‡ ุนู†ู‡ ู…ูู‡ูŽู†ู‘ูŽุฏูŒ ุฃูˆ ู„ูŽู‡ู’ุฐูŽู…ู

14. On Thursdays he walks with pride, but if he cannot
His lethal warriors, resolute, accomplish it

15. Against the enemy, at dawn and night
Two armies of his, assaulting and overwhelming

16. Had your opponent been an untamed horse
It would lower its neck, provoked and bite

17. The thick clouds flashed with lightning
That attacks necks when it flickers and pierces

ูŠู‡ู…ูŠ ุฅุฐุง ุณูŽุญู‘ูŽ ุงู„ุฑู‘ูู‚ุงุจูŽ ูˆูŠูŽุณู’ุฌูู…

18. The beasts of prey circle over his prey during travel
As if hooked vultures hovering above

ูกูจ. ุชุชู„ูˆ ุณูุจุงุนู ุงู„ุทู‘ูŽูŠุฑ ูƒูุณู’ู ุนุฌุงุฌู‡
ููŠ ุงู„ุณูŠุฑู ูู‡ูŠ ุนู„ู‰ ุงู„ุบุทุงุฑู ุญููˆู‘ูŽู…

19. Passing the dervishโ€™s bowls amongst themselves as if
A violent pouring person is shaking them insistently

ูกูฉ. ูˆุชู†ุงู‚ู„ุชู’ ุจุงู„ุฏู‘ูŽุงุฑุนูŠู†ูŽ ูƒุฃู†ู‡ุง
ู…ูุนู’ุทูŒ ูŠูุญุซุญุซู‡ุง ุนู†ูŠููŒ ุตูู„ู’ุฏูู…ู

20. They graze the meadows luxuriously while prohibited
And make lawful the meadowsโ€™ roses while forbidden

ูขู . ุชุฑู’ุนู‰ ุดูŽูƒูŠุฑูŽ ุงู„ู‡ุงู…ู ูˆู‡ูˆ ู…ูู…ูŽู†ู‘ูŽุนูŒ
ูˆุชูุจูŠุญู ูˆูุฑู’ุฏูŽ ุงู„ู‡ุงู…ู ูˆู‡ูˆ ู…ุญุฑู‘ูŽู…ู

21. Trampling the wild cowsโ€™ pastures as if they are
Secured cows in the cattle pens, breaking them

ูขูก. ูˆูŠูŽุทุฃู†ูŽ ุบูุฑู‘ูŽุงู†ูŽ ุงู„ุณู‘ูŽุฑุงุฉู ูƒุฃู†ู‡ุง
ุตูˆู‘ูŽุงู†ู ุฑุนู’ู†ู ุจุงู„ุณู‘ูŽู†ุงุจูƒ ูŠูู‡ู’ุดู…ู

22. The warriorsโ€™ spears compete over the ground
As if their flooding is an abundant downpour

ูขูข. ูˆุชุฏุงูุน ุงู„ู‚ุงู†ูŠ ุงู„ุตู‘ูŽุจูŠุจู ุนู„ู‰ ุงู„ุซุฑู‰
ููƒุฃู†ู‘ูŽ ุณุงููุญู‡ู ุฃุชููŠู‘ูŒ ู…ููู’ุนูู…ู

23. But it is the predetermined, neither delayed
Nor advanced when it comes

ุนู†ู‡ ุฅุฐุง ูˆุงูู‰ ูˆู„ุง ู…ูุชู‚ุฏู‘ูŽู…ู

24. Your lament, O confidants, makes the evenings weep
While the public succeeds it, though the stars weep

ูขูค. ูŠุจูƒูŠ ู†ูŽุฏุงูƒ ุงู„ู…ูุนู’ุชููˆู†ูŽ ุนูŽุดูŠู‘ูŽุฉู‹
ูˆุงู„ุนุงู…ู ูŠูุฎู’ู„ูู ู†ูˆู’ุคูู‡ู ูˆุงู„ุฃู†ุฌู…ู

25. Misery has wrongfully robbed the wealthy ones
So the rich ones of its people became impoverished and broke

ูขูฅ. ูˆุงู„ุจูุคุณ ู‚ุฏ ุณู„ุจ ุงู„ุซู‘ูŽุฑูŠู‘ูŽ ุจุฌูˆุฑู‡
ูุบู†ูŠู‘ู ู…ุนุดุฑู‡ ู…ูุณูŠููŒ ู…ูุตู’ุฑูู…ู

26. Where hearths were once like pastures, neither miserly
Elevating the cooking pots, nor gathered crowds pushing

ูขูฆ. ุญูŠุซ ุงู„ู…ูŽูˆุงู‚ุฏู ูƒุงู„ู…ูŽูˆุงุฑุฏู ู„ุง ุบูŽุถุงู‹
ูŠูุนู’ู„ูŠ ุงู„ุถู‘ูุฑุงู…ูŽ ูˆู„ุง ุดูŠุงุนูŒ ูŠูุฌุญู…

27. You were most generous to them, so the wretched among them
Slept in the shade of your great blessings, content

ูขูง. ุฃูˆุณุนู’ุชู‡ู… ูƒุฑู…ุงู‹ ูุจุงุชูŽ ุดูŽู‚ูŠู‘ูู‡ูู…ู’
ููŠ ุธู„ู‘ู ู†ูุนู…ุงูƒ ุงู„ู†ู‘ูŽุถูŠุฑุฉู ูŠูŽู†ู’ุนูŽู…ู

28. By God, the tomb did not contain him, for it is
A fragrant abode with fresh green plants

ุทูˆุฏูŒ ุฃุดู…ู‘ู ูˆุฐูˆ ุนูุจุงุจู ุฎูุถู’ุฑูู…ู

29. He closed his eyelids, not for any accident
That made him close them, nor for any star that winked

ูขูฉ. ุฃุบุถู‰ ุงู„ุฌููˆู† ูˆู„ู… ูŠูƒู† ุนู† ุญุงุฏุซู
ูŠูุบู’ุถูŠ ูˆู„ุง ุนู† ู†ุงุฌูู…ู ูŠูŽุชูŽู„ูŽูˆู‘ูŽู…ู

30. He passed away, though he used to voice complaint of his life
And his careerโ€”the edge of his toe and his incisor tooth

ูฃู . ูˆุซูˆู‰ ูˆูƒุงู† ูŠุจูุซู‘ู ุดูƒู’ูˆู‰ ุณูŠุฑู‡ู
ูˆุณูุฑุงู‡ู ุญุงููุฑู ุทูุฑู’ูู‡ู ูˆุงู„ู…ูŽู†ู’ุณู…

31. Let no delighted one incline toward life
For the distance has drawn near and the course is hazardous

ูฃูก. ู„ุง ูŠูŽุฑู’ูƒูู†ู†ู‘ูŽ ุฅู„ู‰ ุงู„ุญูŠุงุฉู ู…ูู…ูŽุชู‘ูŽุนูŒ
ูุงู„ุจูุนู’ุฏู ุฏุงู†ู ูˆุงู„ู…ูŽุฏู‰ ู…ูุชูŽุตุฑู‘ูู…ู

32. Beyond the hopes of men is death
For which one rides quickly with his horse girded

ูŠุนู’ุฏูˆ ุจูุงุฑุณู‡ุง ุญุซูŠุซูŒ ู…ูุฑู’ุฌูŽู…ู

33. Your place has quenched the burning thirst, O son of Muhammadโ€™s uncle
And your protection has cooled the heat of evenings, O pillar

ูˆุญูู…ุงูƒูŽ ุฑุฌู‘ูŽุงูู ุงู„ุนูŽุดูŠู‘ูŽุฉู ู…ูุฑุฒูู…

34. Your clouds pouring down like your fresh rain
Remaining as your goodness remains in the world, unwavering

35. God will send comfort to the Imam in his grief
And make pleasant the abode of the one who seeks refuge and honors him

ูˆูŠูุทูŠุจู ู…ุซูˆู‰ ุงู„ู…ูุณุชูŽุฌูŽู†ู‘ู ูˆูŠููƒุฑู…

36. And will fulfill the hopes in the one who seeks help
God will protect him, the God who guards him and makes him infallible
