بقيت غياث الدين ما أظلم الدجى

1. You remained the savior of faith when night was darkest
And dawn from the sun of day had not yet arrived

١. بقيتَ غياث الدين ما أظلم الدُّجى
وما حان من شمس النهار ذُرورُ

2. The protected seek refuge in you, and they asked
For gifts, so you give generously and offer protection

٢. يلوذ بك المستعصمون وسائلوا ال
نَّوالِ فتُعطي واسِعاً وتُجيرُ

3. So many centuries died in your palms
And so many lived in poverty through your gifts

٣. فكم مات في كفيك قرنٌ مُنازلٌ
وكم عاش منها بالعطاء فقيرُ

4. Your raids blind the pupils of the sun through its setting
And your spear within it is insightful and keen

٤. غزاتك يُعمي مقلة الشمس نقعها
ورمحكَ فيها بالنَّحورِ بَصِيرُ

5. For your white banners the covering cloths in the fray
Are pillars and for the blue the spears are strong

٥. لبيضك هاماتُ الغطاريف في الوغى
عَمودٌ وللزُرْق اللِّدانِ نُحورُ

6. It contained glory until none of it was left
Abu Al-Fath an infant and his shirt stained

٦. حوى المجد حتى لم يدع منه شارداً
أبو الفتح طِفلاً والقميصُ بَقيرُ

7. A father who when fate oppresses bows down
But under the banner he is patient

٧. أبيٌّ إذا ما سيمَ خسْفاً مُنكِّبٌ
ولكنهُ تحت اللواءِ صَبورُ

8. I wish I would not cease under his outcries
And my eyes from his kohl are proud

٨. بودي لا أنْفكُّ تحت عجاجهِ
وطرفيَ من كُحْل العجاج فخورُ

9. But near and far I am loyal
And for me over the course of time there is gratitude

٩. ولكنني في القرب والبعد مخلصٌ
ولي على مرِّ الزمان شكورُ
