His pens, lances and well-honed blades

9. He reaches for the highest goals though distant
Leaping with eagerness like a warrior in mail

10. You see his tracing, lines and writer
Learned in ways to defeat his foes in war

11. You opened up the dark recesses of genius and gloom
A piercing light at dawn and beneath arcades

12. And fair the night-halting place of raiders
When the watchfires blazed with leaping flames

13. There your king's crown is like
A hump-backed father in kindness and bounty

14. Giving and glad tidings, pardon and a noble friend
Generous of soul, sweet of mien
