1. I saw Ghiyath al-Din in valor and munificence
Like a vernal white cloud with swords that flash

2. Surpassing steadfast mountains in loftiness
And excelling the flow of storms in resolves

3. He makes the forenoon night with his cave’s gush
And reveals the night of afflictions with a smiling face

4. When a people see wealth as spoils
He sees praise and beautiful gratitude as the spoils

5. He will have no enemy if he is generous
Or if he draws or sheathes a vanquishing sword

6. He is thought to be angry in his sheath
And deemed from the kindness of his swords a boon companion

7. And his secret is to rout an army with his name
Without having stretched out a pen or brandished a blade

8. If power enabled him, he would restrain his violence
A generous forbearing man who loves clemency

9. He obeys the lofty in every easy and difficult task
And disobeys them to safeguard the flags

10. So he remains victorious over the horsemen
For the length of days with protected dominion unharmed
