1. When the darkness of war overwhelms its gloom,
He who illuminates it is the sword of the two states, son of Sunduq.

2. A young man whose white swords dislike their sheaths,
So he sheathes them in striking every joint.

3. He exceeds the pouring rain in generosity and gift,
And surpasses the brilliant lightning flash.

4. A protector, quick to show kindness, whose complaints are satisfied
When the writhing of pain becomes intense.

5. You meet him with a brave heart and arm,
And determination to attain wishes and purpose.

6. He travels freely spending wealth, O how forgiving!
And rises on the day of panic, O how steadfast!

7. And an army roaring like the flooding Euphrates,
From which every infected and diseased one shrinks.

8. The cavalry attack with surging waves
As though they were the shoulders of raced horses.

9. You hardened against them a severe, crushing assault,
So you left them between fallen and fettered.

10. Dawn with auspiciousness that initiates success for purpose,
And the scent of attainment made accessible, not blocked.

11. The sword of glory is sheathed in it with a daring,
Bold one, even if misfortunes gather against it.

12. It combines Arab and Turk,
Containing glories in a shirt and mantle.
