1. You brought the horses galloping in the meadows
Reliving their battles in the darkness

2. Sediments in the dust and swirling
Imagining the thundering of arrows that preceded them

3. Veering away from the lush greenery furiously
Their eyes bulging wildly

4. To reach a towering, lofty summit
I asked its visitors for mercy and care

5. Every conqueror donning armor
Sees death as naught but disgrace

6. So you vanquished the rebels in every land
With your might, either terror or dispute

7. And when you set out to raid a nation
You quenched their thirst with plentiful water

8. You sent the galloping steeds
And they turned their homes into ruins

9. You are the savior of God's religion, protecting
The sanctuary of Islam, may you remain its pillar forever

10. Abu Al-Fath prevails in his endeavors
Whenever a daring adventurer fails and retreats

11. Pure of heart from deviousness and deceit
He prevails when he trusts and rests

12. The army's might wanes when
He glances at a saddle or bridle

13. Open-faced, smooth-cheeked
As if wine flows perpetually over his character

14. Kinder than water and blade
Severer than sword in might and resolve

15. God protected him from stinginess, arrogance
And cowardice since his youth

16. He came with lowered shoulders, forgiving
His soul leading an army of lions

17. Worldly desires seem trivial to him
So he belittles and scorns their grandeur

18. Nor is the darkness of clouds one of glory
Dimming the brilliance of peaks and summits

19. It surged, overflowing, mountain paths poured
With its extent, submerging plateaus

20. After calm, his physicians walked
Through youthful vigor victorious over exhaustion

21. So his thunder roared, voice and tremor
And the piles of his delight surpassed the clouds

22. He left every embellished camel-litter
Showing you the miser atop a ragged female

23. In it, the incapable equal the brave
The hunchbacks and the orphaned boys

24. With fear does the timid evade
Assailing him, making him forget meals

25. Fearing and avoiding what he suspects
For fear it may secretly please him

26. When an elder chides him
He imagines the gleam of a sword's blade

27. The ruler's confidante read him clearly
And exaggerated his desires and resolved his debts

28. He read him, who was distraught with fear and hunger
For him, when he roped him in with a bond

29. Some swagger upon death
When they wade into evil, bitter and callous

30. While prey remains forbidden to them
When lions and leopards disobey

31. And they look down from cushions
So the towering become bridges for them

32. The air is fragrant when their dignitaries speak
As if their talk spreads the aroma of lavender

33. But the sun of their might sets from blemishes
So they don glimmering crowns and turbans

34. You surpassed them in precedence if they were steeds
And outmatched them in virtue if they were nobles
