1. A Hashimite fragrance points to him,
Its gentle breeze gracefully blowing.
١. تَدُلُّ عليه عَبْقَةٌ هاشميَّةٌ
أريجٌ تَواليها ذَكيٌّ نَسيمُها
2. And a Mudari palm represents him,
Pure is its core if it boasts or is modest.
٢. وتُعْربُ عنه دوْحةٌ مُضَريَّةٌ
له محضها اِنْ فاخرتْ وصميمُها
3. Forms vary, and so do bright-faced moons,
And passions when gray clouds thicken.
٣. ضَروبٌ وبيضُ المُرْهفات كليلةٌ
وهوبٌ اذا الشَّهباء أكدتْ غيومها
4. When thoughts wander, he gently reins them,
When dreams fly away, he is wise and forbearing.
٤. اذا جارت اللَّزْباتُ فهو جَوادها
واِنْ طاشت الأحلامُ فهو حليمُها
5. Those who praise him sing of his glory,
Swift as the wind their tunes carry.
٥. تُغَنَّى طِلاحُ اليَعْمَلات بحمده
فيسْبقُ مَرَّ العاصفاتِ رَسيمُها
6. To him the absence of grace is disgraceful,
And grace that does not last, disgraceful.
٦. يرى أقبح الأشياءِ حِرمانَ نعمةٍ
وأقْبحَ منها نعْمةً لا يُديمُها
7. The heavens of glory for those who look on are lofty,
And his noble character is the stars that adorn them.
٧. سماءُ عُلاً للنَّاظرينَ رَفيعَةٌ
وأخلاقُه الغُرُّ الكِرامُ نجومها
