3. The morn we left Ibn Juhdurโs son
Lying dead, while the hilltops oozed
ูฃ. ุบุฏุงุฉู ุชุฑููุง ูู ุงูุบุจุงุฑ ุงุจู ุฌุญุฏุฑู
ุตูุฑููุนุง ุ ูุฃุทุฑุงูู ุงูุนููุงูู ุชูุตูุจููุจู
4. And al-Hawfazan escaped us, as though
He were a horned ram released from tether

ุจุฑููุฉู ูุฑูู ุ ุฃููุชู ุงูุฎููู ุ ุฃุนุถุจู
5. The morn of Raghฤm, when one is saved by a stab
From the lord of deaths, he may slip or miss his step

ู ุ ุญูู ููุฌู ุจุทุนูุฉู

ูุงูุง ุ ูุฏ ุชุฒููู ูุชุนุทุจู
6. They met the same fate met by al-Lujaymi before
Qatฤdah, when he came to us seeking vengeance

7. So he returned to a rock, after his band was scattered
By the evilest of what a warrior brings
ูง. ูุขุจู ุฅู ุญุฌุฑู ุ ููุฏ ูุถูู ุฌู

ุง ูุฃุชู ุจู ู
ุชุฃููุจู
8. And the sword had reached from the heat of his face
To where his pierced nose met
ูจ. ููุฏ ูุงูู ุญุฏูู ุงูุณููู ู
ูู ุญุฑู ูุฌููู
ุฅูู ุญูุซู ุณุงูู ุฃูููู ุงูู

9. And Jushshฤmah al-Dhulayy took him
Back, fettered, to our kinsfolk, his head bleeding

ูุฎุฒูู

10. They recognize him amid the houses, bound,
From the lines Shaybฤn's sword engraved

On the back of a skinny steed with cropped tail

13. The morn was as if Ibn Layjim and Washkir
Were ostriches fleeing through Al-Kadฤซdโs desert
