١. إن يَكُ عَمروٌ فصِيحَ اللِّسَانِ
خَطِيباً فَإِنَّ استَهُ تَلحَنُ
2. Stick to vegetables and pomegranates
And salt that is pounded, not ground
٢. عَلَيكَ بِسُكٍّ ورُمَّانَةٍ
ومِلحٍ يُدَقُّ ولا يُطحَنُ
3. Stick to my two gardens of fig and carob
And garlic heated in a frying-pan
٣. عليك بحِلتِيتِ كِرمَانَ والنَّانَخَاةِ
وَثومٍ يُسَخَّنُ في مِدهنُ
