١. يا كاسِراً حَرفَ الرَغيفِ
عَرَضتَ نَفسكَ لِلحُتوفِ
2. Don't you know that it is
But a crumb, not what the feeble sleep on
٢. أَو ما عَلِمتَ بِأَن هُوَ
ذَرَةً غَيرَ نَوامِ ضَعيفِ
3. You see in it a parasite's fear
Eating thriftily from the loaf
٣. وَتَراهُ خَوفَ مُطفِّلٍ
لِلبُخلِ يَأكُلُ في الكَنيفِ
