1. O noble, generous, kind one
O finest of manners, praiseworthy traits

2. O sea of generosity and spring of nobility
O most clement, lofty, ambitious one

3. O possessor of awe and might—strong and fierce
O valiant, intrepid, mighty lion

4. O guide and daring one
O formidable, dignified lion

5. My master and sultan
Lord of supremacy, glory and nobility

6. May God aid you with the Holy Spirit
And clothe you in the robe of acceptance

7. May time ever protect you
As guardian, preserver, and caretaker

8. Please accept my kissing of your hem
In utmost veneration and esteem

9. The train of your pure, noble dress
As I press my lips upon your blessed threshold

10. I stretch out my palms beseechingly
Appealing to the intercessor

11. That our Lord may lengthen your life
And in this world perpetuate your good memory

12. He loves you, grants you victory and support
Perfecting succor with good fortune

13. May God make your state everlasting
And render your authority eternal

14. Making it a sheltering shade
Of beautiful days and nights

15. Extending its justice over mankind
With ease of souls and bodies

16. Your servant whom you have inherited
From the predecessor of the exalted whom you succeeded

17. Your departed, blessed father
Whom the Garden of Bliss embraces

18. The noble and lofty ‘Ali
Quenched by my Lord with the wine of approval

19. Has had the honor, when there arrived
Your supreme decree—my soul is sacrificed for you—

20. To receive it with praise and veneration
In fulfilment of its sublime due

21. Its noble, august text expressed
The sweetest, most fragrant speech

22. That the generous sea of mercy
And spring of the generous eye’s nobility

23. Poured down showers of grace
And torrents of beneficence, generosity and honor

24. Upon your humble loving servants—
Those whose affection is described as righteous

25. What grace it shows through time
Deserving of thanks and gratitude

26. May God increase His bounty upon you
And perpetuate His blessings upon you

27. You remain at the basin of generosity
And constancy of beneficence and giving

28. I have received that splendid
Magnificent, generous gift

29. From the envoy in Beirut which
Through its connection to you has been ennobled

30. And most significant to a servant
Is the occurrence in the noble and momentous mind

31. And the sympathetic, gentle imagination
While ceaselessly praying to the Master of the Flag

32. Muhammad, master of God’s messengers
And His repenting, devoted servant

33. I hope that He will favor with acceptance
For that is the utmost of what I aspire

34. And this—which the servant has persisted in
Presenting to you foremost—

35. He thus presents at your blessed threshold
And likewise to the noble hearing:

36. In this the servant hopes that the occurrence
In the noble and fateful mind

37. May have your glance include him
For that is the ultimate that he aspires;

38. And I desire from the Creator of existence
The eternity of your lofty state,

39. Enveloped in utmost order
And utmost system and organization,

40. Lengthening your life with guidance
Along the straightest path

41. By the status of the best of creation
He who brought us guidance and truth

42. Muhammad His most venerated messenger
And chosen one, most supreme

43. His prayers upon him and peace
Lasting as long as night and day

44. And his noble, virtuous Household
And his pious, righteous Companions

45. As long as a branch sways, a pigeon moans,
Lightning flashes, clouds loom,

46. As the opening from his Almighty Creator
Which he hopes will grace this minister with victory and triumph,

47. Grant him manifest victory and conquest,
And protect him from every fear and danger,

48. Vanquishing his enemies in every age
Cloaking them in the garb of afflictions and ordeals,

49. While he enjoys in life an easy livelihood
And goodness, always in a good state;

50. And praise belongs to God, ever
From the beginning to the ending of the world.
