Except your brightness illuminated and became clear.

2. No breeze blew by heading towards your sanctuary,
Except its fragrance from you scented the universe.

3. O shrine of honor, all leaders make pilgrimage to it,
O direction of knowledge, cognition is oriented towards it.

4. The mention of you ceaselessly wanders in my thoughts alone,
Since for thoughts of other than you, there is oblivion in my mind.

5. My tongue remains moist with praise of your beauty,
As my soul remains engrossed in appreciation of your gratitude.

6. O eye of generosity, you appeared and none
Among the generous of the age can be seen like you.

7. O sea of munificence that surged towards me with a full moon!
And the sea surges with pearls and coral.

8. How abundant were your gifts to us like brilliant full moons!
I gained more benefit from your words than knotted pacts.

9. You magnified my pride and elevated my worth,
Since you adorned my neck, would that I had two necks!

10. Since you vanished from sight, dejection has not left it
From when your servant’s eye remained sleepless.

11. I yearn to meet with you always,
Despite you being in the courtyard, while my heart dwells with you.

12. No rest for one who yearns while his longing remains plenty,
Who carries a load, though he was not weary.

13. The sadness of distance is no grief for me,
Else one who loves would not remain confused.

14. Oh if only the hand of proximity could melt my remoteness,
So the sorrows of separation would depart from me.

15. That a shining moon of joyfulness would radiate
Its light upon the sides of my body from your face.

16. Bestow us with your visit and care for your beloved one,
And make him pleased with your consent and crown him with utmost benevolence.

17. O full moon of lofty traits and laudable deeds,
O sun of perfection with which beauty is adorned.

18. You blessed us, O father of dew, with an ode,
Supreme over eloquence, transcending Suhban.

19. Of a chain whose links are composed of brilliant moons,
In the best composition, upon the sweetness of lucid rhetoric.

20. You honored with it the head of one who will devote himself to you,
How proudly a crown assumes the mark of honor!

21. I harnessed for it a devoted conception, an ingenious idea,
Lissome, emulating bending branches.

22. She implores you to accept her, so do not reject her wish,
Can the bashful hopes of acceptance return from you disappointed?

23. And submit the lifetime with sweet living,
No bird trilled on branches with more beautiful tunes.

24. Triumph is not for you, raising a banner of praise,
No glimmer shone from pure wine on the goblet.
