1. Good tidings, O Beirut, on this day I give you good tidings
The sun of the Most High has settled on your hills
١. بُشراكِ بَيروت في ذا اليّومِ بُشراكِ
فَإِنَّ شَمسَ العُلى حلَّت ثريّاكِ
2. Delight your eyes with it, for today it has risen
With good fortune, filling with light your terraces
٢. قرِّي عُيوناً بِها فَاليّوم قَد طَلَعَت
بِالسّعدِ مالِئةً بِالنّورِ أَرجاكِ
3. It is a sun of glory, its rising place the tower of honor
Above the skies, higher than the towers of the spheres
٣. شَمسٌ مِنَ المَجدِ بُرجُ العزِّ مَطلَعُها
فَوقَ السّماكِ عَلا أَبراجَ أَفلاكِ
4. Since it traveled from you to Acre with dignity
Seeking its purpose, and its people and protector
٤. مُذ عَنكِ سارَت إِلى عكّاءَ في شَرَفٍ
لِبُغيَةِ القَصدِ واليها وَمَولاكِ
5. So it has connected itself to you with a light it radiates
As if it had not been absent from any of your sides
٥. فَها بكِ اِتّصلَت نوراً أَشعّتها
كَأَنّها لَم تَغِب عَن بَعضِ أَنحاكِ
6. Of the necklace, in the harmonious composition of its threads
Pillar of glory, beloved of honor with dignity
٦. هاتيكِ حاكمكِ المَيمون طائِره
فَريدة العقدِ في مَنظومِ أَسلاكِ
7. One whose conferred glory no narrator has limited
The Most High has woven from the fabric of honor
٧. خِدن المَعالي خَليل المَجدِ في شَرَفٍ
مَن مَجد سُؤددهِ لَم يَحكِهِ حاكي
8. A glory that has become the best shroud and wrap
The brother of perfection, who was molded with manners
٨. حاكَ العُلى مِن نَسيجِ العِزِّ يَحبِكُها
مَجدٌ غَدا خَير حيَّاكٍ وَحَبّاكِ
9. With good words and pure, fruitful deeds
The lord of wisdom and intelligence, his insight
٩. أَخو الكَمالِ الّذي قَد صيغَ مِن أَدَبٍ
بِحُسنِ قَولٍ وَفِعلٍ طيّب زاكي
10. Shows from his intellect mastery of comprehension
The formidable knight that frightens with his might
١٠. ربّ الحِجى وَالذّكا دَلَّت فطانَتُهُ
مِنَ الذّكاءِ عَلى إِتقانِ إِدراكِ
11. Every slanderer and killer
And today he has returned from Acre with dignity
١١. الفارِس الضّيغَم الصّنديد يَرهبهُ
مِن بَأسهِ كلُّ طَعّانٍ وَفتّاكِ
12. With a procession the like of which no thought can encompass
Welcome to him who has come and honored Beirut
١٢. وَاليّومَ قَد عادَ مِن عكّاء في شَرَفٍ
بِمَوكِب لم يجُلْ في فِكرِ درّاكِ
13. And its smile has become, from joy, all laughs
By God may He keep him as long as earth lasts! The land laughed
١٣. أَهلاً بِهِ جاءَ بَيروتاً وشرّفها
وَثَغرها فَرحاً أَضحى بضحّاكِ
14. From the edge of the weeping, rain-filled heavenly clouds
As long as the praising of angels continues
١٤. وَاللَّه يُبقيهِ ما أَرضٌ لَقَد ضَحِكَت
مِن طَرف سحبِ السّما الدامِع الباكي
15. In the heaven, may he be served with power and supremacy
١٥. وَدامَ بِالعِزِّ وَالعَلياء تَخدِمُهُ
ما دامَ في ذي السّما تَسبيح أَملاكِ
