2. I seek Allah's opening to victory
He who is associated with Him without denial

3. The tongue of good fortune spoke proclaiming good news
You are loved so receive the good news, O Opening, of victory

4. The Imam of cognizance, merit and piety
And the one who is the essence of the times, nay the pupil of eternity

5. He realizes this time as proof of his merit
When it may be hidden, transcending the dawn

6. Aspirations sincere as lightning for him
And a resolve progressing like an effective sword's blow

7. A skillful, eloquent, astute and eminent litterateur
An articulate, prolific poet in semantics and verse

ููŽุตูŠุญูŒ ุจูŽู„ูŠุบูŒ ููŠ ุงู„ู†ู‘ูุซุงุฑู ูˆูŽููŠ ุงู„ุดู‘ูุนุฑู

8. A sage - how many wisdoms pour forth from him
Flowing on a string of prose and poetry

9. He is the sea - pearls are visible from his mouth's expression
And the finest pearls emerge from that mouth

ูˆูŽูŠูŽุฎุฑูุฌู ุฃูŽุบู„ู‰ ุงู„ุฏู‘ุฑู‘ู ู…ูู† ุฐูŽู„ูƒูŽ ุงู„ุซู‘ูŽุบุฑู

10. Unique - he abandoned any peer or approximate
Like the midday sun with the horizon's scintillating stars

ูƒูŽุดูŽู…ุณู ุงู„ุถู‘ูุญู‰ ูˆูŽุงู„ุฃูู‚ ููŠ ุงู„ุฃูŽู†ุฌูู…ู ุงู„ุฒู‘ู‡ุฑู

11. So if he is a full moon beyond others in merits
We see him as the sun towering over the moon

12. Sublime, eminent in status, he is Muแธฅammad
Of commendable origin, surnamed Abu Al-Naแนฃr

13. Grandson of glories, virtues and dew
Father of majesty, son of might - the pride of pride

14. We have heard many accounts of his noble character
Virtues of goodness his hand cannot encompass

15. Many have related verses of his merit
And they recite them in praise like the sun and dawn

16. And the knowledgeable Berber of distinction and dignity
Related to us the singular story of his unique merits in time

17. Supported by eyewitness accounts of events
I ascertain that the righteous narrated of the sea

18. I wished for a gathering one night by his side
Knowing what the Night of Power brought

ู„ูุนูู„ู…ูŠ ุจูู…ุง ู‚ูŽุฏ ุฌุงุกูŽ ููŠ ู„ูŽูŠู„ูŽุฉู ุงู„ู‚ุฏู’ุฑู

19. And my ignorance of his lofty station pained me
A youth's ignorance is no doubt among the greatest harms

ูˆูŽุฌูŽู‡ู„ู ุงู„ูุชู‰ ู„ุง ุดูƒู‘ูŽ ู…ูู† ุฃูŽูƒุจูŽุฑ ุงู„ุถู‘ูุฑู‘ู

20. Though with the noble an excuse is evident and clear
Since a man's ignorance is considered the most valid excuse

ูขู . ุนูŽู„ู‰ ุฃูŽู†ู‘ูŽู‡ู ุนูุฐุฑูŒ ู„ูŽุฏู‰ ุงู„ุญูุฑู‘ู ูˆุงุถุญูŒ
ูˆู‚ุฏ ุนูุฏู‘ูŽ ุฌู‡ู„ู ุงู„ู…ุฑุกู ู…ู† ุฃุจู„ุบ ุงู„ุนูุฐุฑู

21. And you, brother of knowledge, accept excuses
Since accepting excuses is the trait of the noble

ูขูก. ูˆูŽุฃูŽู†ุชูŽ ุฃูŽุฎุง ุงู„ุนูุฑูุงู†ู ู„ูู„ุนูุฐุฑู ู‚ุงุจูู„ูŒ
ูˆูŽุฅูู†ู‘ูŽ ู‚ุจูˆู„ูŽ ุงู„ุนูุฐุฑู ู…ูู† ุดูŠู…ูŽุฉู ุงู„ุญูุฑู‘ู

22. O eminent guardian Abu Al-'Ulฤ
To you I gift the first of my volumes

ูขูข. ูˆูŽูŠุง ุฃูŽูŠู‘ู‡ุง ุงู„ู…ูŽูˆู„ูŽู‰ ุงู„ู‡ูู…ุงู… ุฃูŽุจูˆ ุงู„ุนูู„ุง
ุฅูู„ูŽูŠูƒูŽ ู‚ูŽุฏ ุฃูŽู‡ุฏูŽูŠุชู ุจููƒุฑุงู‹ ู…ู† ุงู„ุฎูุฏู’ุฑู

23. Despite my nonsense and imposition
You are generous by nature, in secret and openly

ูขูฃ. ูˆูŽุชูŠ ู…ูู† ุฎุฑุงูุงุชูŠ ูˆูŽููŠ ุชูŽุทูู‘ูู„ูŠ
ูˆุฃู†ุชูŽ ูƒุฑูŠู…ู ุงู„ุทุจุน ููŠ ุงู„ุณุฑู‘ู ูˆุงู„ุฌู‡ุฑู

24. So receive it eagerly and overlook its shortcomings
And be the best noble one who accepts faults with concealment

25. Remain happy with lasting bliss
As long as the era, however long the singer or planets revolve

26. Wherever a breeze blows from the dawn in a meadow
And perfumes it with the sweet scent of blossoms
