The ascetics incline a heedful ear, utterly enraptured;

2. And the truthful enchantment of his gaze's magic
From which the masters of enchantment's knowledge narrate

3. Are his mole-adorned temples that tell of scorpions
Having stung the innermost being of the lover that languishes

4. And the down on his cheeks, with the marks of a censurer
Over which pure musk the beauties have smeared

5. And his red lips that gleam like embers
The passionate have cast their glances, utterly enamored

6. And his cheeks have been enflamed by beauty and shyness
Upon which the hearts of lovers have been utterly branded

7. My love for him is lasting - I do not heed
The speech of other than those enraptured by love and desire

8. And my desire of him is to seek and maintain connection
Turning away from the talk of envious and chaste if they deter

9. By God, I would not refrain, even if I became withered dregs
Even if the rebuker had chopped my flesh, utterly lacerated

10. And they ask me to refrain, but nonexistent is one who would prohibit me
How could they when my entrails are utterly enveloped by his passion
