1. I yearn to visit her, though my soul desires,
Yet my chastity chose for me the hardship of separation.
١. أَبغي زِيارَتَها وَالنّفسُ طالِبةٌ
لَكِن عَفافي اِرتَضَى لِي شقةَ البينِ
2. The eye is surely an adulteress, thieving,
But there is no rule over the eye for that.
٢. فَالعَينُ زانِيَة لا شَكّ سارِقَة
وَلَيسَ في ذاكَ مِن حُكمٍ عَلى العَينِ
