1. Indeed, the teacher excels in virtue
So submit to what he says, be peaceful and virtuous
١. أَلا إِنّما الأُستاذُ في الفَضلِ صالِحٌ
فَسَلِّمْ لِما يُبدي وَسالِمْ وَصالِحِ
2. The eyes are delighted by his eloquence and good speech
His lessons, analysis, and good advice
٢. تَقرُّ بِهِ العَينان حُسناً وَمَنطِقاً
وَدَرساً وَتَحقيقاً بِحُسنِ النّصائِحِ
3. No wonder our eyes are content with that
For the eyes are only pleased by what is good
٣. وَلا غَروَ إِن قَرَّتْ بِذاكَ عُيونُنا
فَما قَرَّتِ العَينانِ إِلّا بِصالِحِ
