1. By night when she came to my abode
I was sick with sleeplessness and heartache
١. وَلَيلٍ بِهِ الخودُ زارَت مَحلّي
وَإِنّي سَقيمُ الجَفا وَالأَرَق
2. At the gleam of dawn she came to visit me
And kept sighing deeply till she fainted
٢. بَدا صُبحهُ غِيرة حينَ زارَت
وَأَبدَى التّنَفّس حتّى اِنفَلَق
