1. I see in this world of people naught
Save foolish, vain, despicable, wanton wights,
١. أَرى هَذِهِ الدُّنيا مِنَ الإِنسِ ما بِها
سِوى جاهِلٍ عاتٍ لَئيمٍ وَعابِثِ
2. So is mankind all gone from it or what?
Leaving but villains and the villain knights?
٢. فَهل زالَ جِنسُ الإِنسِ مِنها فلا يُرى
وَلَم يَبقَ غيرُ الخُبثِ ثمَّ الخبايثِ
