1. A star of glory and honor fell from the sky,
And we found it hard when now it sets.

2. It was the brightest star up high,
With its lights, before it began to hide.

3. It was a sun of ministry and highness,
Adorned with abundant glory, happiness its company.

4. A minister great of prestige, worth, and progeny,
A prominent peerless man, high-aspiring and ambitious.

5. Majestic, beautiful of face, excellent in conduct,
Cultured, literary, refined in generosity.

6. Valiant whom even lions fear his might,
Just mentioning him makes them turn and flee.

7. If war erupted in tumult,
He is the tested veteran warrior.

8. How many times his flags fluttered with victory at dawn,
And with conquest they returned wherever conquest was sought.

9. Forbearing, he never got angry in this world,
But for God, he used to get angry.

10. Forbearance is innate to him, and virtues his way,
Good manners always his doctrine and belief.

11. He shepherded the wolf and sheep when he was the governor,
He used to play and frolic with the sheep.

12. He spread his justice among the people,
A just ruler is loved.

13. He spread his security in this country,
So none feared what might come and go.

14. Praiseworthy of good deeds in beautiful traits,
Thankful musk used to perfume him.

15. Compassionate of a heart abundant in mercy,
With it examples among people became common.

16. That was Sulayman the Righteous, pure of intention,
He kept working for people’s good.

17. Whoever brings people comfort in this life,
Has no purpose in it other than that.

18. His God called him to the House of Bliss,
So he marched where he is wanted.

19. He answered loving to meet his Lord,
And loving to meet God makes one successful.

20. The caller of death seized him swiftly,
And what is painful and burdensome befell us.

21. We became amid sorrows and agonies,
Flipping our palms in deep regret.

22. My eyes will pour tears from every weeping eye,
Tears flow and pour over the like of him.

23. But patience and acceptance of what God has ordained,
For patience and acceptance are best for us.

24. Is his death something that could be prevented from happening?
Our fathers died and were buried in graves.

25. We were born to die and perish,
And our lifespans crumble and ruin.

26. Eternal life is not a reality in this world,
Otherwise the Chosen Prophet would not have died.

27. Eternal life belongs to God, Majestic is His Majesty,
And no soul can escape death.

28. Yet this valorous man is alive and did not die,
For two reasons, neither false:

29. I heard people of all faiths praising him,
Pleasing the loved one and gladdening the heart.

30. He left for us a full moon shining bright,
Appearing high up with nothing to veil it.

31. That is the lion cub of glory and stature, his heir,
The intrepid hero who does not flee.

32. Pride of the sublime house, Abdullah Might of the Lofty Ones,
Whose tail of pride time pulls behind it.

33. Lover of clemency, good deeds, and gentleness,
And loving the wellbeing of people as he desires.

34. Possessor of wisdom, opinion, insight and intellect,
To his thoughts even the deepest divers ascend.

35. Brother of generosity and benevolence, he never tires of giving,
Rather it is sweet and delicious to him.

36. We hope in God and God is Bestowing,
To bestow what we hope of Him and seek.

37. To make him in this country its minister,
An enduring rule for him in it and position.

38. To make him happy in it with any rule,
With glamorous glory none can equal.

39. To make his door open there, never closed,
To make it ever open as long as stars shine.

40. O valorous man rarely paralleled,
Meet this with graceful patience, for patience is best.

41. For who remains of people and mortals?
And from your supreme knowledge, what is hidden?

42. I console you as they mentioned is tradition,
A condolence with it is recommended by faith.

43. In the best of God's creations for people is an example,
And in him people's greatest calamity.

44. Stay in God's safety, with might and tranquility,
You still flip through His blessings.

45. And live happy among people, your fame
With sweet praise and thanks makes fragrant.

46. As long as the zephyr blows from morning breezes,
And a star appears then another sets.

47. As long as the minbar of branches stands atop it,
A pigeon with beautiful melody sings and orates.
