1. A beauty of prophesy called to passion
So we said, "Will you not take a sign to heart?"
١. نَبِيَّةُ حُسنٍ دَعَت لِلهَوى
فَقُلنا أَلا آيةً تَعتبرْ
2. Then she let down a lock upon her cheek
And at once we saw the moon split open.
٢. فَأَرْخَتْ على خدِّها سالفاً
فَحالاً أَرَتْنا اِنشِقاقَ القَمرْ
