1. The sun had never trembled ere she saw his face,
The loveliness of which no tongue can trace.
١. الشَّمسُ لَم تَرتَعِد مِن قبل رُؤيَتِها
بَدر الجَمالِ الّذي لَم يَحكِهِ أَحدُ
2. But when she saw him clad in coat of mail,
Trembling she stood dissolved in deadly pale.
٢. لَمّا رَأَتهُ وَشامَت رُمحَ قامَتِهِ
مِن حينِ ذا لَم تَزَل في الأفقِ تَرتعدُ
