1. When the poet from Bahrain came to visit us in Beirut
He brought with him necklaces made of poetry
١. وَلَمّا أَتى البَحرِيُّ بَيروتَ زائِراً
إِلَينا لَقَد أَهدى عُقوداً مِنَ الشعرِ
2. So it's no wonder he gifted us these shining pearls
For such gems arise effortlessly from the sea
٢. فَلا بِدعَ أَن أَهدى لَنا الدّرَّ ناظِماً
فَناهيكَ أَنَّ الدُّرَّ يَبدو مِنَ البحرِ
